Classroom: Foreign Languages Building G7

Room G7 FLB is a fixed-desk computer classroom located in the basement and is available for use by the College of LAS, or by other University purposes for a fee. It is about 35’ deep by 20’ wide. The room is carpeted and has central air. The projector system is operated by a push-button control pad and is connected to a computer.

  • 2 ADA height-adjustable desks for students
  • Height-adjustable chairs and an additional mobile table and chairs for collaboration away from the computers
  • Instructor: 1 height-adjustable desk, 1 movable table and chair
  • Marker boards and transparency OHP with separate projection screen
• Display:
  • Projector on the North wall
  • Operated by a push-button control pad on the desk
  • Windows computer with DVD drive
  • Region-free DVD player
  • Inputs for VGA + audio and auxiliary composite AV (yellow, red, white) to display personal devices
• Audio:
  • 2 wall-mounted speakers and a series of ceiling speakers are connected to all source inputs.
  • 1 lavalier microphone for voicelift and the assistive listening system (headsets not provided)
  • Headsets with microphones for the instructor and students are located at the computers.
• Access: 
  • Desk staff in room G8 FLB will unlock the room about 10 minutes before class.
  • The instructor equipment is NOT locked.

Background

Room G7 was previously 2 smaller tech-enabled classrooms (G9 and G11) until combined into a larger computer classroom in the summer of 2006 to help meet the high demand for student computing labs.
