Classrooms & Labs Help

This page contains information to help you use our classrooms and labs. More instructional information will be coming soon, including videos on how to use software. If the information you find here is insufficient, for help please visit a service desk (G8 FLB & 212 Lincoln Hall), ask questions or report class/lab problems.

There are a number of technical issues that we cannot resolve. This guide helps you work around problems with USB keys, browser issues with Compass and much more.

Passwords

Having trouble keeping your passwords straight. This is a quick guide to what all your passwords are, where to set them & where you might use them. For a complete & official explanation of your passwords, please visit the CITES Password Page.

Foreign Lanuage Computing

ATLAS lab and classroom computers can be configured so that you can type in non-English languages. You will choose an input language and a keyboard layout. Students should talk to their instructors to find out the proper settings. Spelling and grammar check may be available as well, but we have found these tools to be somewhat faulty, so please don't rely solely on them.

Software Guide: Vision

This is a PDF guide to using the basic features of Vision, which allows instructors to connect to and control all student computers in a given classroom. You can project your screen to theirs, allow them to demo their screen to the rest of the class, and lock them out of using either just the internet or their computer entirely. Also, for more information, please visit their website--the full user guide is online.
