Room G96 FLB no longer available

ATLAS Classrooms now only manages student computer classrooms. We do not have any classrooms without student computers. Please check with FMS for a CITES ITS classroom if you do not need student comptuers.

VCR Removal from ATLAS Classrooms - Summer 1, 2009

We are removing VCRs from most or all of our student computer classrooms during Summer 1, 2009. Effective Summer 2, 2009, you should not expect there to be a VCR in any ATLAS student computer classroom. This does NOT include rooms G96 FLB or Lucy Ellis Lounge. All of our classrooms will have an auxiliary input to which you can connect a VCR, so you can bring your own to our computer classrooms. We may be able to reallocate some of the VCRs to departments. If your department needs a multi-standard VCR, please contact us.

Software Changes - (For Summer 2 & beyond)

UPGRADES: For Summer 2 we are upgrading:

  • SAS to version 9.2.
  • SPSS to version. 17
  • ArcGIS to version. 9.3

NEW DISTRIBUTION / INSTALLATION METHOD: Beginning Summer 2, 2009 we will be managing the software installation differently in some of our computer classrooms. Many applications will be installed on a server rather than on the individual computers.

Priority Deadlines for Classroom Scheduling & Software Requests

Requests can still be made after the deadline, but they will be placed only after all of those submitted by the deadline. Requests made after the deadline will be processed in the order in which they were received.

Priority deadline: Requests submitted by the deadline are all handled at once and have the best chance of getting placed. A few weeks after the deadline has passed we begin placing anything submitted after the deadline in the order that the requests are received.

Software deadline: to have software installed by the first week of the term, please submit your request by this date.

Spring 2010

  • Room requests: the priority deadline has passed, but requests may still be submitted
  • We will send you confirmation or denial of placement by: Fri, Sep 25, 2009
  • Software requests due: Wed, Dec 9 , 2009

SUMMER 2010

  • Room requests, priority deadline: Fri, Jan 8, 2010 (submit requests)
  • We will send you confirmation or denial of placement by: Fri, Feb 12, 2010
  • Software requests due: Wed, May 5, 2010

Fall 2010

  • Room requests, priority deadline: Fri, Jan 29, 2010 (submit requests)
  • We will send you confirmation or denial of placement by: Fri, Feb 26, 2010
  • Software requests due: Wed, May 5, 2010
